i have updated my iPhone 4s to the most recent software. my pone verified the update and switched off, it then came back up with the apple logo and the loading bar, but since it got past halfway through it's stopped and won't go any further. I've tried switching it off and it hasn't responded, what can I do?

In this situation I suggest you try resetting the device first and trying to continue update.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

If that does not resolve your issue, you may need to put the device in recovery mode and restore it from a previous backup after the update installs.
