2009 MBP memory question

Hello,

My girl friend has a stock 2009 MBP with 2gb of memory. I'd like to get one 4gb stick (removing the other two 1gb sticks). Maybe down the road I'll pick up another 4gb stick. In any event, should I expect any problems with only one stick of memory?

Thanks,

K

While MacBook Pros run more efficiently with both slots filled with matching RAM sticks, I would, were I you, just leave one stick of he 1GB RAM in and put the 4GB stick in the now 'empty' spot. Her MacBook Pro should be able to handle that 5GB but 2 x 4GB sticks would be optimum.

Good luck,

Clinton
