Trackpad Not Discoverable

My trackpad is not discoverable on my Mac Pro. The bluetooth is on. I have turned the device on and off. Still not discoverable. However it is discoverable on my mac prof. I have connected the blue tooth receiver to my mac book and it is momentarily discoverable then fails to fully connect. I have replaced the batteries. I am not sure where to go from here. Please help!
