suffer from ios 7 update issue and fail with a hard reboot

Urgent! my iphone 5S is frozen while installing the new software version last night ( I started to install on 7/10 at 11:45pm). It went through almost half but has been frozen there. Although I checked online how to fix it and learned to have a hard reboot by holding down the Home/Sleep Wake button for few seconds...... I held the button down for more than 30 seconds or until my finger felt hurt, it was still frozen without turning to dark screen. What can I do to fix it? It's my phone for work, I've to get this fix ASAP.

You will have to restore the phone using recovery mode. It's too late to backup now as well. Actually you should have backed up just before you tried the udpate, but hardly anybody ever thinks of that. I hope that you did.

My iPhone 5s has frozen since the upgrade. It's totally gone mad, it will let me reboot and choose one action before freezing again. It refuses to reset or restore as it tells me there is an error. I managed to shut it down but this did not fix it. What do I do if I can't restore it?
