Severe Trackpad Problems (Mac Pro)

Earlier today (12 hours ago) I spilt about a handful of warm water onto my trackpad. At first I thought it would be okay, but I was wrong. My mouse started spazzing out, and it's almost completely immobilised. I've read other responses to this issue, saying I should remove the back and yada-yada-yada... The problem is, I've left half a day to do this, so I don't know if this will work. Should I still follow this procedure?

Another note is that this has happened before, but my Mac was replaced before I could complain. What happen was that the motherboard failed to respond to my hard drive. Would this be caused by the water that seeped into my Mac? Because I don't want to replace another Mac again.
