no matter if I turn off iCloud, it keeps sending messages

How can I REALLY stop iCloud ... we don't want messages from one device to another and WORSE, we do not want Apple to have ANY of our personal messaging or calendar or anything else ... it's simple ... STAY AWAY APPLE!

Hi greg515,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you would like to sign out of iCloud on your device and furthermore would like to sign out of the Apple ID for Messages. I would also suggest signing out of FaceTime on the device as well. If you have already deleted your iCloud account from Settings > iCloud, the article attached will have the steps for signing out of Messages and FaceTime.

iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation

To sign out of your Apple ID

  1. Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
  2. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.

Have a great day,

Joe
