New Tek Webhosting

I have a client using a company called new tek for website and email hosting (newtekwebhosting.com). His designer handled registration and set up. After setting up imap accout as per instructions client can neither send or receive and none of the ports supplied are recognized when verifying. The default ports don't work either. Anyone have any suggestions? I have an email into company but no response as of yet.
