RAW Images don't preview in iPhoto 9.5.1

When connecting my Canon EOS (old 30D), I am not getting a preview of my RAW images before importing. They import just fine, but I'd prefer not to take the time importing images I don't want. This worked fine under Mountain Lion and iPhoto 11, but after the "upgrade" to Mavericks and 9.5.1, no dice. I have reinstalled all of the Canon software I used in the older version, but no change. Help?
