iPhoto has been updated to 9.5.1 but is still showing the old look

I have updated my Macbook to OS X Mavericks, which enabled me to update Garageband, iMovie etc. Which went successfully. When I went to install iPhoto 9.5.1, it successfully installed but the look of this app did not changed, the event, places etc are still down the left hand side and not down the bottom. In About iPhoto it says it has updated to 9.5.1, why hasn't the look changed?
