iPad Air and iPhone 5 speed slow, laptop fine

Hi

We've recently upgraded our broadband to fibre and are getting great speed on our Advent laptop - roughly 33 Mbps - but I've noticed our iPad Air and my iPhone 5 are really slow. I downloaded the speedtest.net (or Ookla) app and ran a speed test on the iPad as both that and my phone have seemed very slow, it returned a speed of 0.55 Mbps vs. the 33 Mbps on the website version of the same checker on the laptop. iPhone 5 is running similarly slowly.

Additional info - all running on wireless, all tested from the same place in the living room, BT broadband.

Just seems very odd to me that the laptop should be getting such great speed but my Apple products aren't?!

Any help or suggestions gratefully received!
