Q: Retina MBP won't mirror properly to Canon projector
Hello!
I have a projector manufactured by Canon, if I remember correctly the settings tab told me it was a SX800. I'm trying to help my friend set his MBPR that he purchased just a few weeks ago display his screen via the projector and I've not had any luck. His old MacBook he had up until he bought his new one worked fine when he plugged it into the projector. The SX800 would acknowledge that a device had been plugged in and adjust it's settings accordingly. Well, I tinkered with just about every display setting both on the projector and the new MBPR to no avail. The thing thats irritating me is its so close, but the screen isn't completely transferring. Its displaying a thin line of blue, then a dark gray space, then about 2/3s of the MBPR's screen, then cuts off the final third or so. I tried messing with aspect ratios, mirroring on and off, resolutions, everything.
I know thats a sideways pic, but it still completely shows my problem.
Does anyone have any ideas? The fact that a non retina MBP worked properly a few weeks ago tells me its got something to do with the resolution, but the problems do NOT look like resolution problems, and on top of that the resolution was drastically reduced when I was playing with it earlier. If anyone has any solutions I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for anything you can help with.
