Iphone 4s is stuck on connect to Itunes

I have tried several different things that I have found on this site. I haven't had any luck with any of the fixes. I took some pictures yesterday before I started the update to IOS 7. Normally during the updates, I haven't had to back it up before I updated. Now if I restore, I will lose the pictures that I took yesterday of our middle school softball team working on our softball field. We needed the pictures for our media person to put in the paper. Is there any way that I can still retrieve those pictures? I have tried to download TinyUmbrella like some have suggested but once it says that it's downloaded, it won't open. What else can I do?
