How can I get the old photo app. the new one does a terrible job of displaying geotagged locations

Apple recently changed the way they display photo locations. EX, the old app allowed you to see the entire country with pins in various locations where pics were taken. Users could keep zeroing in to locate photos in very specific locations. The new app is useless for this purpose. Can anyone suggest an app that allows locating pics like the old app did? Thanks
