New 5c: Why would sync of texts (mac to phone) just stop?

Today I upgraded 4s to 5c. I have always been able to read my texts from my mac (a desktop wi Mavericks) to my 4s. But now I can not. I am on same wifi, so I don't know what could be wrong. Is the problem (not setup) with mac or 5c phone? To add more to the mix I also purch a iPad mini. The ipad is getting some texts. This is used for a business so I am stressing out. Any advice?
