Unsubscribe to UK Holidays calendar?

I managed to hide the UK holidays calendar from my iPhone and assumed this meant I would not be notified of events within it. I was wrong.

Today I got a notification for Battle of the Boyne - which is something I really do not want associated with or reminded of. It is not listed in my calendar as an event anymore but my phone is still notifying me.

The Battle of the Boyne most certainly isn't a UK holiday and I and many others find it offensive to have a sectarian event forcibly included in our phone calendars with no apparent way of getting rid of it for good.

Can anyone please tell me how to remove this unwanted calendar and its offensive reminders from my phone?

I was also bemused about being reminded of the Battle of the Boyne!
Here's how to fix it on a Mac, still working on iPhone:

Here's how to Get the "View" menu and select "Show Calendar List".

On the Calendar app the list of calendars you are subscribed to will appear

in a sidebar on the left.

Unselect the ones you don't want to see, including "Holidays in United Kingdom".
