If you are trying to install drivers for your HP printer, rather than install from the disc, you can download the latest drivers available directly from the HP website.
Make sure to download drivers compatible with your Mac OS X.
If you aren't sure which OS X is installed, click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
The version is noted there.
