Apple TV - the Apple ID you entered couldn't be found

This weekend I started having problems with 1st gen Apple TV. Unable to sigh into iTunes Store, everything else is accessible. Very frustrating. Seems to have happened after completing most recent version up. I've tried factory restore, resetting password (although the original one worked on other devices). Apple TV just ran through version up but tried again and no change.

The same thing is happening on my 2nd Gen Apple TV. I can't see anything except the Computers / Options menu. When I try to set up Home Sharing it tells me the Apple ID or password are not valid/unrecognized. I've verified both. I've tried restarts and resets, but without any luck. My Apple TV is now useless. I deeply regret downloading the latest update earlier this month...things worked well before then.
