I have a late-2012 RMBP, Recently i noticed that the trackpad on the laptop doesnt click on the any of the edges. The Tap functionality seems to working, but i cant click on near the edges, only in the middle of the trackpad. How can I fix this. My laptop is out of warranty period.
Take it to an Apple Store at once, unplug it and keep it that way until you do. The symptoms you describe are of a defective or failing battery, it could well be swelling and impeding the pad. Do not ignore this!
The user cannot fix the trackpad, but you can take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out - that is free. They can advise about any repair costs so you can decide what you want to do.
I also have a late 2013 Macbook Pro, and had the same problem. Luckily it happened to me while still under warranty. I took it into the Apple Store and they had to replace the track pad.
If I remember correctly, I think there is a screw, or spring, or something under the trackpad that was the problem.
