New version of itunes wont display and sync latest pocasts

I am running Windows 7 and recently updated my itunes. It has been working fine before but an odd glitch has started since I downloaded the new version. When I go into podcasts it displays the latest episodes of podcasts I regularly subscribe to, however when I go to my ipod when linked for some podcasts it says there are latests uplayed episodes but only only displays and syncs old ones. I have it set to only sync selected podcasts to my ipod and for the latest 3 unplayed. I have searched around but there doesn't seem anyway to get it to refresh, any ideas?
