iphone touch problem with itunes

Hello,

I have a macbook pro, an ipod classic that connects showing no problems with the mac (to synch music manually).

I always had no problems connecting another ipod (touch) but when I try to do it now it got stuck after the machine recognise the ipod touch and shows the name.

ITunes is the latest version available and I have updated to Mavericks.

Could it be that the ipod touch can only be connected to one mac?

I have taken my old mac (OS X) out of the closet and the ipod touch works synching music manually from the library.
