iPhone won't turn on, can't restore because can't switch off find my iPhone

My iPhone won't switch on, past the apple symbol when pressing sleep/on and home button together. It will connect to iTunes but iTunes says it cannot restore without switching off find my iPhone. I tried deleting the app from the phone via iTunes but no success. Any ideas appreciated.
