Using Mavericks 10.9.4 I want to be able to fax documents using an Apple external USB modem, but I am not seeing Fax PDF on the PDF menu in the print dialogue nor am I seeing external modem listed in Networks on System preferences. Mac help says I can fax directly to an external modem. What's wrong?
The Apple modem is not supported in Mavericks. You would have to use a third-party modem. USRobotics makes one that should work. Alternatively, you could use an Internet fax service, which doesn't require a modem.
