Apple remote going through batteries fast

Question

Apple remote going through batteries fast

My ATV 2 remote has always worked until recently when the original
battery died. I replaced it with a new battery and it lasted one day. I have
since replaced it two more times with the same result.

I just tried a reset of the ATV and a new battery in the
remote. Hopefully this will take care of it.

Has anybody else run into this situation? If so how did it
get resolved?

have you tried to buy the batteries somewhere else then the first place?

an alternative could be if one of the buttons are stuck it will keep sending it's signal over IR and when done all the time it would wear the battery down faster

my appletv1 remote is on it's second battery

and my iMac remote 2011's remote (the alu one like newer appletv's) is still on it's first batt
