iphone 4s won't connect to itunes

my iphone 4s won't show up in itunes. I updated my software, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, followed the steps under support, restated my computer and still nothing.

When you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes did you follow the specific order as shown in the articles below?

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Also have you followed all steps in this article:

I got it to work thank you, I uninstalled all apple components then restarted my computer then re-installed everything. Before I was just uninstalling itunes alone, but thank you!
