How can I empty my trash email. There is no delete or delete all option after the emails are highlighted from the edit option. This is on an i phone 4 running on ios 7.1.2
Open the Trash folder, click Edit. You should see a Delete All button at the bottom of the screen.
I found that same advice as you are offering, but when I go to trash and hit the edit the only option on the bottom of the screen is "mark all" there is no delete or delete all. The other two options are move and trash neither of which are highlighted.
Further to that, when you do hit edit and then highlight an email the options on the bottom of the screen change to mark, move, and trash. All of these are highlighted but there is no delete. If you send the highlighted email to trash you get a pop up screen that says unable to move to the mailbox trash. If you hit the trash option and hold it you get a message in red that says trash selected messages., but then you the same pop up unable to move. I just don't get it.
I have 7 email accounts on my phone. If I tap EDIT while viewing the Trash folder in any of them I see "Mark All" on the left and "Delete All" on the right. If you tap any message, however, the legends go away.
ok thanks but I don't get the delete or delete all options in trash or any of the email folders. The only way to even get rid of any email is to use the move option and then all you can do is move them to trash and that's it.
Is this a corporate Exchange account? Perhaps your account administrator has blocked deleting messages. If that's not it there is something really weird about your phone; take it to an Apple store and let an Apple genius try to work it out.
No not a corporate account. I know this doesn't make sense, but there is no delete option in any of the mailboxes. Thanks for your help and advice.
