Can't update apps

I've gotten maybe 8 apps to update on my iPad over the last month and some, with 52 that still need to update. I've tried individually initiating the update on each app and updating from my Purchases or using Update All, and each method has worked a few times. Typically, updates will begin for an app and then just stop without progressing at all, or for a few apps if I use Update All.


I've had other problems, such as none of my apps requesting permissions under Privacy, making it impossible to add them.


My iPad software is updated, but I can't make any changes that requiring restoring it from an earlier backup because I don't have my computer and don't know when it'll be back.
