Facebook Messenger won't send notifications.

Facebook messenger has suddenly stopped sending me push notifications. No other app has this problem. I went into my notification centre and everything is set right. I also deleted and reinstalled the app, but neither has helped. It does occasionally send me notifications about 30% of the time but other than that I have to actually open the app to see if someone has messaged me. It's getting really annoying. Does anyone have a solution?
