Am trying to download a VLC media player to my iMac (OS X 10.9.3) but it says I need theright app to do this. Help desk says i must have the right app to open and run or save the VLC media player download. But what is the right app?
Haven't a clue to what you are referring. You can download VLC here: VLC Media Player 2.1.4. VLC requires Snow Leopard or later to run.

if the file is called .exe in the end it's a windows not osx file
Thanks. am just moving over to iac after years on a PC and didn't even notice the ".exe" tag. As soon as I deleted the original download and downloaded one suited of OS X 10.9.4 end of problem
