Yesterday I had to restore my IPhone because it went in to recovery mode.
Now i have restored it and i cant activate it with my giffgaff sim even though i have been using it since August 2013
How can i solve this?

Sounds like it was locked to a carrier and then hacked to unlock it
Restoring the iOS resets the lock as still shown on the Apple activation servers
The only way to unlock is through the carrier who locked it when new

it was locked to vodafone before
PHone needs to be factory unlocked to become permanently unlocked. Only the official carrier can factory unlock a phone. Contact vodaphone and if the phone is done with its contract, they can unlock it for you.
