I buyed iphone 5 from USA in 2012. But i live in istanbul/turkey. I have wake up/sleep button problem. When i call app store service (zorlu center) in istanbul, they say " we cannot fix your phone in turkey. Bcz you buyed this iphone 5 in USA.You must send USA or other europe countries." I don't understand, why? Bcz TUrkey apple store is OFFICAL.What will i do? Please help me? Best regards

iPhone 5 USA doesn't have the same configuration than an european device that's why I think the Apple Store in Turkey couldn't repair your iPhone. I know that you can get repair in Europe like in France or Switzerland but only on Apple Store!

iPhone warranty is only good in the country of purchase - that is the way it has always been. You will need to physically return the phone to the country of purchase, or ship it to a trusted friend who can take it in for you. Apple will not accept international shipments.
You should always buy the phone in the country in which you intend to use it.

AmishCake, there is no need anymore to return in the country of purchase: if his device is in warranty, some country in Europe can repair device on Apple Store. My friend have an american device (iPhone 5 as well) and gets repair in Paris (Apple Store Opéra). 🙂

If it was original from the US it must be returned to the US. Only exception is if it was purchased in a EU country then it can be exchanged in an EU country.
