My ipod touch (5th gen) randomly stops playing music and videos. I have done a restore...no help there, still stops. Any ideas?
If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Been there. No help at all; just the same old restore stuff. Tried a second ipod touch (5th gen) on same itunes and music/videos still stop playing. So hardware not involved. Feeling helpless!
If this is still causing you trouble (at this point, I would hope not), try this: Poke a toothpick into the earbud jack. I had the same problem, and a toothpick brought out a good chunk of lint, which was apparently interfering with the jack and its "pause" option, making it think the earbuds were being taken out. Since then, no problems.
