I had about 100 deafult pictures while buying the ipad. How do I delete them? After selecting, I'm not able to delete as the Delete icon is disabled. But it allows me to delete pictires that I take
Are you speaking of the default Apple Wallpaper images, shown under Settings/Wallpapers & Brightness/Choose a New Wallpaper? If so, they cannot be deleted from the device. I thought there were maybe 20 or so, not 100. Regardless of the number of them, you cannot remove them.

What app do you see these in? Was this a used device?
IIt was under photos app. The is no delete option. it must be default pictures. It is not a used device 🙂 new one.
ANd also, i updated to iOS 7. now im not able to download stuff from the App Store. The free/purchase icon does not appear. Only the description of the app appears. There are two games (angry birds,hansel&gretel) and many other preinstalled apps(iphotos, ibooks, imovies, etc) . they don't work. How do I delete them?

Where did you purchase this device? It is either used, or a counterfeit.
It's a gift. Will the Apple store be able to solve the problem?
You need to return it to what ever store it was purchased from. It is highly unlikely this came from an Apple store. You could certainly take it to an Apple Store and have them examine it, however.
