wondering if you can help me out. I have a mid-2009 15" MBP and wanted to upgrade to SSD. I am moving the old HDD to the optical drive
other than the OSX, will I be able to move Apps (Office, Aperture, etc.) to the SSD and leave the files in the HDD?
Just install the MacOS on the SSD and load the apps you want on it accordingly. See OWC for the adapters OWC- http://eshop.macsales.com/
It's easier to leave your home folder on the SSD also, just move data to the HDD and go from there.
so all the Apps will be transferred to the SSD via Clone? thanks. I thought a had to re-purchase them.
Does this also mean the HDD will keep all OS and Apps even though I'm not booting from there, correct? I hope I'm making sense here....
This is the best way for making a rock solid system:
Install a fresh Mavericks on the SSD
Reload your apps from the App store (no need to purchase again)
Copy all home folder data to the new account.
Upgrade to SSD and moving HDD to Optical drive
