I bought a game that has 16.66 GB and my computer has 30 GB free, however when I try to install it it says there is not enough disk space available.

Whenever I try to install the game it says there is not enough disk space available. I have tried to delete things that take up space but it did not help.

30GB's free disk space is not enough. If you don't free up storage space soon, your Mac may not boot which is why you see the, "not enough disk space available" dialog.

Control click the MacintoshHD icon on your desktop or open the Finder, right or control click startup disk in the Sidebar on the left then click Get Info.

You'll see Available and Capacity. Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.

Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk

Restart your Mac after deleting data to see a difference in storage space.

The download is an archive that has to be unpacked. There has to be enough space for the archive and the unpacked files to exist at the same time; in other words, about twice as much as the size of the download, plus a safety margin of at least 9 GB. So you would need at least about 40 GB of available space to install the app.

Apart from not being able to install a huge app, you have adequate free space. There's no danger of a boot failure.
