Ipad mini retina screen colours washed out?. Apple has already fixed the issue?

Hi everyone

First of all, sorry if i dont write in the best way, i am from Spain and my elglish is medium-basic.

I am looking to buy an Ipad mini with retina display.

I readed many reviews from december 2013 that say thar ipad mini 2 screen only covers 63% of adobe srgb colour gamut. Nexus 7 covers 100%

All this issues where noticed on the end of 2013. I want to know if this is fixed or the problem continues now

Those of you who have an ipad mini and ipad air too, Can you compare and say me if you notice any colour issue. your ipad mini have to be bought on 2014 becouse its known that ipad mini retina 2013 have the issue.

Thank! regards

i just compared my 2013 ipad mini retina, my iPhone 5S (retina) and my macbook pro 13" early 2011 (no retina). i used some identical photos on each.

in terms of colours, i cannot see much difference except saturation being a bit lower on the iPad mini. this is because the overall contrast on the iPad mini is a bit lower than on the other two devices. but neither do i see a disadvantage in this, nor do i consider this a real 'issue'. in contrary, while iPhone and macbook tend to show the colourful high contrast look that consumers like and we therefore find on a lot of devices (the brighter the better, no matter what), the iPad display looks more natural and realistic. personally, i definitely prefer the iPad mini display.

better check yourself rather than reading about other peoples' issues. ;-)

I will agree with this. I have an iPad 3, an iPad 4, an iPad mini (1st gen) and an iPad mini Retina. Direct comparison between the devices reveals lack of color saturation on the mini Retina but it's not as bad as some may make it out to be. I'll also agree about it's looking more natural compared to the others, especialy compared to the iPad 3 & iPad 4 which can almost seem a bit on the garish side as far as saturation goes. It's almost (but not quite) like buying a new LCD TV and using it's default picture setting which is almost always "Dynamic"...and what the stores set it to to get them to "pop" on the display wall. It's nowhere near being a natural image. As was mentioned, yes the saturation is a bit diminished on the mini Retina but I wouldn't consider it much of an issue...

That being said, I don't know if it has been "corrected" since I don't consider it much of an issue to begin with.

Thank for our answers. I would like also to ask yoi if you notice any colour diference betwen the ipad mini 1 and ipad mini 2 becouse my cousin has an ipad mini 1 and its screen colour seems good. I cant understand how apple can made a premium item like ipad mini with worst colour gamut than his rivals like nexus 7 or amazon kindle . You can chek the "ISSUE" writting in google "ipad mini retina low colour gammut"

Other question. How many battery hours can you get until it drains to 0%?
