Jul 15, 2014 8:11 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby apiselli,I am responding from work i will enter the serial # when I get back home.
I am attempting to reinstall via -holding down the option key at start up- then choosing the option of reinstalling from the option that is not a back up on the HD.
It takes me through to the next step but says an error has taken place and says to retry and i have to start from scratch only to be stuck in that loop.

Boot the MBP OPTION+COMMAND+R. The display should show a spinning globe.
Follow the installation instructions. This connects to the Apple servers and will install the original OSX.
You will need a solid Internet connection.

This was just purchased this past August for my son for college-
It gets hung up at the start up screen and the daisy just spins and spins for ever.
I have run disk utilities - disk verify and repairs - minor repairs and it still wont start up.
