Can I retrieve photos that were not backed up after a factory reset?

The newest software update crashed my phone to where we had to do a factory reset on it. I lost all of my photos obviously and as it turns out, they were not backed up to icloud or itunes (at least that me or tech support can find), I know the answer is No but just in case there is anyone out there with some serious tech knowledge I wanted to ask. Is there any possible way to get my photos back? I could care less about everything else, I just want the photos.

The backup is not the best way to deal with photos anyway. Photos should be imported to the computer the same way you would import photos from a digital camera. You should always do that before doing any software work on the device, since you could always have a failure with an update. The iPhone does not have a recycle bin.
