How do I arrange my bookmarks alphabetically in safari on my ipad

I am very disappointed that while iPad Pro is being pushed as an alternative to a MAC, that there is no logical way to create "files in a place called documents."

And thank you for directions for ordering up Bookmarks. If I realized four years ago, I would have made files A-Z & kept things organized. Manually hauling things around my page is not very efficient use of my time. (I know Google & I.E. do not organize either, but one intuitively knows to move the most often used to the head of the list).

Trying to do this on my MBP, running Safari 8.0.6 on Yosemite. I used to be able to drag and drop to organinze my Bookmarks folders alphabetically, but now every time I try to do this, I can't get it to go between 2 folders...it keeps putting it in inside one of the folders.

There is no way to do it automatically. You have to arrange them one at a time, manually. If you have a lot of bookmarks, it is very tedious and time consuming.

Tap the Bookmarks Icon - the open book icon

Tap the Edit button in the bottom right corner of the resulting bookmarks window

Drag the bookmarks up or down by holding down on the three horizontal lines on the right of the bookmark.

Tap Done when you are finished.

Open bookmarks.

PRess edit

DRag them into alphabetical order
