cant create apple id. account limit reached
cant create apple id. account limit reached
cant create apple id. account limit reached
Hi.
I have this same issue. The iPhone is a friends onld phone.
I have created an apple Id via icloud.
I have factory reset the phone and am attempting to setup the phone using my new id.
Using the 'Restore from icloud backup' option.
The phone attempts to sign in returning the message
'Can't create applied ID. Account limit reached'.
Does this mean the phone is no more than a brick or could the apple store do something for me? Would I have to pay?
Thanks
Jason
Hi,
I had to arrange an Apple Support call. The Apple Support Team first changed the device to be registered to myself (it was registered to the previous owner).
It now shows up in my devices when logged into Apple Support website.
I was then referred me to Apple Account Security who in turn escalated the issue to Engineering Support, for an engineer to increase the limit on my device by 1, allowing it to be registered with my Apple ID.
The whole process only took a few days.
They said this would now need to be done every time the device needs to be registered with a new user.
To create a support call for this issue, you can do the following:
Apple Support will call you at the scheduled time and you can explain the issue to get your account limit increased.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Jason
Following advice in another thread, I have signed on in a working iPhone using my apple ID.
I was prompted to accept terms and conditions and also enter my credit card for use by iTunes, which I did.
Still get same message when trying to use apple ID on the other phone.
I may just have to book an appointment at genius bar unless someone else has an answer?
Thanks
Jason
I am using this ID. No matter which ID is used, the message is the same.
There seems to be a limit to the number of accounts that can be used on a device.
I have booked a genius bar appointment to see if they can help. Will report back.
Thanks
Update so far, for anyone else who finds this by search.
I went to the Apple store for an appointment at the Genius bar.
They confirmed that there is a limit of 3 accounts per device and this is for the lifetime of the device.
So, at the moment, the device is a useless brick, stuck on the setup screen.
However, he registered the phone to myself and arranged an Apple support call for me which I have today.
I may be able to get the limit removed if i explain the situation.
Will post up progress later today.
Thanks
Jason
SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR ACTIVATION LIMIT REACHED THING
After making your apple ID (whether with @icloud.com or @xyz.com) sign in on any other apple device in cloud.
This way, your newly formed apple ID will be verified in icloud database
Sign out from that apple device
Now, Sign in to your own apple device icloud and it will accept it this time.

Why not simply use your old AppleID (the one you use to post here)?
Create the AppleID on a computer or other Apple device. Then you can
use it on your iPhone.
