Q: I just installed FCE version 3 but can't open it. How do I open it?

I had to get some repairs done and I just re-installed all of my software including FCE3. I installed it a couple of years back and I had the same problem opening it; something about the graphics card. I found a solution and was able to open it but as I said before, that was a couple of years back and I don't remember how I did it. Does anyone know how? Thank you.

My recollection is that the graphics card error message appeared in cases where FCE v3 or earlier was installed on an Intel Mac ... and the solution was simply to "ESC" the error message when it appears.

That said, I do not recommend using FCE3 on any version of OS X later than Leopard (10.5). If you have a current Mac running Lion, Mt. Lion or Mavericks you should really upgrade to Final Cut Pro X.

You need to give more info such as the exact model of Mac you are using (not just "iMac") together with the operating system.

I have an earlier Imac5,1 Intel Core 2 Duo...2.16GHz and I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
