The playlists on my iPad aren't in alphabetical order.
I have an iPad 3 with current operating system and iTunes; the playlists do not appear in alphabetical order. What am I doing wrong?

I have an iPad 3 with current operating system and iTunes; the playlists do not appear in alphabetical order. What am I doing wrong?
If created on your computer and listed in alphabetical order, then synced to iPad, the order will remain.
playlists created on the iPad will remain in the order you added them.

All my playlists were created on my Mac. They're in alphabetical order in my Mac and on my iPhone 5s but not on my iPad.
Is this an iMatch issue?
And one playlist, of Beethoven piano sonatas, does not appear on the iPad, although the "songs" do!
Note: I don't want the "songs" in alphabetical order, I'd like my playlists in alphabetical order.
If the playlist was in alphabetical order on your Mac when synced to the iPad, they still should be in order.
try deleting that playlist from iPad, then sync it back in order.

You could un sync, re sync and see if that works.
Yeah, I'm stumped, too. Now I've found songs that aren't in alphabetical order!
I.e.:
