Can not print to a Ricoh Aficio MP C4502 after migrating to a new mini running Mavericks.

I printed successfully to the IP printer when running OS X 10.6.8. I migrated to a new mini i7. I have been able to ping the printer successfully through Network Utility. I found the printer's webpage and it has post script enabled (by my understanding). Details below. When I attempt to add the printer it appears to find it and choose the appropriate Ricoh driver from the set I downloaded from the Ricoh site. I tried deleting all the drivers I downloaded and adding it, but still no dice. It just never will actually print anything.

You didn't say which of the three IP printing protocols you tried. Try with IP > HP Jetdirect.

You shouldn't need to download drivers for that model - it's available on Apple's server for auto-download when you add the printer in Print & Scan prefs. (this is the new OS X driver paradigm). The version on Apple's server is 1.2. Is that what you have?

Thank you for your guidance. I am unsure how to check the version of the driver I have.

I otherwise did as you directed, and the outcome is strange. It claims to connect to the printer, send the job to the printer. By all appearances it is a successful process, and for the first time there are no error messages. But the printer itself does nothing. I checked the 'print jobs' section on the printer itself and there was nothing from me there, pending or otherwise.

Actually I just checked the error list and found "authentication error" on a job that had to be the test I sent. Users do all have a user ID number. Any idea where I might input my ID number in the printer setup process?

Found it in the "job log" portion of the print menu on the application I was printing from. Thank you, problem solved.
