Yes the iPhone is very easy to use.
Read this online manual below and see if you like it:
I am 77 and have been using an iPhone for several years. It is amazing! My best advice is to get a book or download the manual and read up before you start to use it. I found a book at Costco that helped answer my many questions. You may find that unnecessary, but I always like to have some idea what I am dealing with before I dive in.
Easy to use is really a tough thing to nail down, what is easy for one person might not be so easy for another. Physical capabilities and prior experience can have a big affect on how someone views a device.
In addition to the suggestion to look at the manual I suggest you go to an Apple store and let a sales person show you the iPhone and let you play around with it for a while. I would also suggest a trip to a store like Best Buy to get an idea of what else is around.
The iPhone does have (and I suppose other brands have also) settings to enhance accessibility for users with either vision or hearing issues. I know as I've gotten older the ability to enhance the displayed text has been very helpful.
good luck
regards
