Q: Iphone 5 kept turning itself off!

Whenever I opened up any of the apps on my phone the phone kept turning itself off. It turned back on straight away when holding down the top button but then did the exact same whenever I opened anything up. The screen then began to flicker in the edges of the screen, and now my phone wont turn itself back on at all. When holding down the button on the top I just keep getting the apple logo flashing on and then off. It wont even work when plugged into the computer or when put on charge. Help????

    Hello there Amy_iPhone,

It sounds like your phone will not turn on past the Apple logo even when it is charging or plugged into the computer. I would use these steps specifically from the following article, named:

iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281

      1. Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
      2. If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
      3. If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
    1. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
      1. Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
      2. If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
      3. If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
    2. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers,

    Sterling

It sounds as if the phone does boot up but crashes shortly after.

If you can you need to go to Settings>General>About>Diagnostics & Usage>Diagnostics & Usage Data and look for any strings that have the first 10 characters with numbers only.

If you do those are Panic Logs, if they contain "bug type 110" you need to make sure you are up to date.

If you are up to date it could be an issue with your iCloud account. You'll need to erase it and re-set it up without the back up ,aka "as new", meaning you'll need to import all the important info on your phone to a computer.

If none of this helps, you need a replacement.

For anybody in the future with this problem, solving this is VERY SIMPLE just by updating software or restoring your phone through iTunes (It happened to me with my iPhone 5 too).

1.- Make sure to have iTunes open and your cable plugged to your computer
2.- While turned off, press down and hold the home button and proceed to plug the cable in your iPhone
3-. Release the button when you see the the iTunes icon

4.- iTunes will recognize your iPhone in Recovery Mode and you'll be able to choose the solution.

    YAYYYYY!!!

This is where I got the info. It's basically what i just told you but in spanish.
