Imaging A Fusion HD

I would like to know others experience when imaging an iMac with a fusion drive. Apparently, according to the "Geniuses" at Apple, you cannot image a computer with a fusion HD from a net-boot server. Absolutely not. They say this will, and I quote "break the computer". They say the only way to image one of these is to create a DMG of another iMac and restore the DMG using disk utility. Remember, the old school way we did it like 10 years ago? I would like to know your experience and thoughts on this.
