How do you make a horizontal average line in a scatter plot?

In any version of Numbers, is there a way to make a horizontal average trendline? Not a "moving average", but one line that is the average that goes through the data points on a scatter plot.

This is a late answer to your question. I had the same question and I found the answer after searching around a bit. Perhaps future searches will show this answer to be helpful. I'm using Numbers 3.5.x on a Mac.

First have your chart selected (click on it). Select Format on the Toolbar. Select Series in the Inspector pane. In the Trendlines section select Linear from the drop down menu. Other options are there like Moving Average (what I was interested in).
