Q: Mail is Unable to Connect to iCloud
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013/1.3GHz/8GB RAM/256 GB) running OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I am having issues with Mail (7.3)
I recently did a clean install of OS X Mavericks a few days ago, after getting everything set back up I noticed that Mail wasn't receiving my iCloud mail. Next to the iCloud Account in the Inbox Sidebar there is a little icon of an ! in a triangle. When I click on it, I get a message that reads,
"Unable to Connect
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “p03-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on port 993. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct."
I can still check my email from the iCloud website, but I'd like for it to go through the Mail app.
In Mail Preferences, under the Account Information tab the iCloud Account is enabled, the Incoming Mail Server is: p03-imap.mail.me.com, the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): is iCloud (iCloud), there is a box that is checked, "Use only this server"
Under the Advanced tab, the boxes "Include when automatically checking for new messages" and " "Automatically download all attachments" is checked. There is a text box that is called "IMAP Path Prefix:" that is blank, Port 993, Use SSL box is checked, Authentication is "Apple Token" and the Use IDLE command if the server supports it is checked.
