I tried deleting a Mail Account from Mail Preferences and can't (it's grey out) and again Console says the Calendar is to blame. I've never used the Calendar. Yosemite is the buggiest update ever!

I had the same issue and decided to be a little heavy handed in my solution, but it worked:

  1. Close the preferences panel and any open applications. (Even if they don't use the internet accounts information. I don't know why, but this is the only way this fix works, so just do it.)
  2. From the user Library folder, navigate to /Library/Preferences/Containers/ and delete the folder com.apple.internetaccounts.
  3. From the user Library folder, navigate to /Library/Preferences/ and delete the property list file, com.apple.internetaccounts.plist.
  4. Reboot your computer.
  5. Your preference pane should now be working.

After trying all the other options, this one worked for me! Thanks Pravel!

Hi Linc! This seems like something you might know. I can send you a screen shot of my Console list if that's helpful. Because I back up using the old Backup software I don't know if restoring from there will be as clean:

My user is the admin for my mac mini (late 2009) running Yosemite 10.10.3. For the last few days mail, calendar, and contacts are not syncing - just for my user - and trying to open the iCloud and Internet Accounts System Preferences panes gets me the 'unable to load' error. At the beginning of this problem Finder was also crashing but by following a discussion thread I was able to locate the finder preference plist and delete it forcing a reload. For the moment Safari loads but many other apps don't including Chrome, Calendar, Messages, iPhoto, and iChat. When another thread suggested that I look at my Console messages I found that the computer is repeatedly crashing the process of communicating with the various iCloud services. Console stacks up the error messages so fast I would like a pause button so I can take a closer look. What plist files, saved state files, or Container folders should I try to delete and reload, or is there another fix? (I have done a reinstall, though not a clean one, and tried a safe startup which unfortunately still showed the same crashing loop in Console) What a crazy problem! I have to back up my phone, but I have to do it to my son's account! Thanks for your help! Dan and Angela

Thank you, this finally solved the issue, actually i deleted the InternetAccounts folder following Macintosh HD/System/library and InternetAccounts, it was the 'Exchange.ia..plugin' as when deleted the file i lost iCloud and all so i moved them all out and put back one by one from Trash back to InternetAccounts.

I don't know what is this Exchange.plugin. but it was jamming with pop ups and all.

All is back to work.

Thank you

Most of these issues are down to the intelligence agencies nowadays, so they can spy on us all and 'keep us safe' from evil doers. We're talking mach_kernel ASCII level stuff, daemon and agent level isn't unheard of. VS a company like apple they don't even need money; they force with the law.

Hate to be one to say it but I've had years at looking through the code, console, full terminal, wire-shark network data, root console relentlessly, and unless Apple hired a college grad in the last few years it's absolutely swarming with multi-leveled surveillance and other crap.

So many odd requests an background processes related to meta-data and unique UIDs and identifiers, that to cut a long story short, take the very very long way round to do even the simplest tasks, and tend to vanish into virtual partitions, all kinds of weird **** i've noted.

I hope the agenencies know what they are doing. Article out about XKEYSCORE today. https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/07/02/look-under-hood-xkeyscore/

I'd say 90% of people are more likely hacked by government intelligence, than 8% by private corporations, the other 2% are solo hackers.

Sorry for the massive tangent! Might as well leave it here now ... just they are sweeping up waaaay too many people with thing like this now.

Yep and an icloud connection to their IP just detected again with little snitch and wireshark, despite me not even having an icloud account, and despite being turned off, and despite the processes related to it blocked from receiving incoming or outgoing connections, and despite even the hidden icloud system processes the same.

There be a backer than background process somewhere, with a virtual VPN of some sort on this PC, that I've seen pop up in root for a few second b4; soon as I click it vanishes.

Oh and surprise surprise drop-box just popped up again one of the my external harddrives as the only privilege opinion being 'write to dropbox'. Doesn't even say my username, system or anything else. All greyed out. Repaired permissions this morning too. Never even set up a dropbox account, let alone added a user account, or even visited their webpage.

Ok I'll take my tin foil hat off now ... someone usually comes along and says something sensible after I get a bit paranoid 😀

I've same issue as you too OP, so trying the above that worked for you btw (almost forgot to mention)

can't open internet accounts preference pane in system preferences
