Q: Mac wont boot or recover

About 13 days ago my macbook air (mid 2011) suddenly froze at the login screen that appears after it has been in sleepmode for a long time.

I restarted it as i thought it would help but it just froze at the plane white screen with only a weak sound of summing coming from it.

I Thought it would just help to leave it off a couple of days but at day 4 it would still not boot.

So far i've tried all possible solutions but only internet recovery changes anything on the screen, but even thought it ls about 12 wifi networks available here it shows none when it searchs for wifi networks, it only shows "..."

Of course i also reseted the NVRAM and SMC but it does not change anything.

Please help all my pictures are on that

machine!

Have you tried a safe boot?

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564

If no success, boot the MBA with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys down.  You should get a revolving globe on the display.  This connects to the Apple servers and should allow you to download the ORIGINAL OSX that came with your MBA.  You will need a solid Internet connection.

    Ciao.

Can you get into the recovery partition?  (Boot the MBP with just the OPTION key down)  It should show 2 HDD icons, the right one is the recovery partition.  Click on that and from the 4 option menu select Disk Utility>First Aid and Verify and Repair the disk.

If not, take the HDD out of the MBP and install it in to an enclosure.  Connect it to your MBP via USB and see if you can boot the MBP (Boot the MBP with the OPTION key down).  If so, the internal SATA cable will need to be replaced.  If not, then connect it to another Mac and see if you can repair the disk and access your files.

    Ciao.

If i boot my MBA with the option key down it just starts in internet recovery mode.

I actually managed to select a wifi network and connect to it in internet recovery but when i start the recovery it just freezes immidiently after i press return.

If you can set up your MBA in Target disk mode connected to another Mac, you might be able to access the SDD.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661

The other option is to take out the SSD and install it in an enclosure and connect it to your MBA and see if it will boot it.  If not, then connect it to another Mac ans see if the SSD will be recognized.  You will need an enclosure such as this:

The last option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and see if they can assist you in accessing the SDD.

    Ciao.
