Mac os x 9.4 won't recognise ipod 4th gen

Hi

I'm new to the mac world and iTunes won't recognise my iPod 4th generation or my iPad.

Any suggestions???

I have updated al devices to the latest iTunes software as well as the mac.

This is what you want. You need iTunes 10.7 or later and that requires OSX 10.6.8 or later. However, you can sync )but no restore) with iTunes 10.6.3
